No, all of our units are designated non-smoking. You are welcome to smoke outside and we ask that you be responsible of proper disposal of debris to help us keep our property looking beautiful. If you smoke inside, a claim will be placed against your security deposit.
Pack the essentials for a relaxed Keys getaway—sunscreen, personal items, swimsuits, flip flops, hats, sunglasses, and comfortable clothing for both warm days and cooler evenings during the winter months. If you plan to explore the water, bring snorkeling gear, fishing equipment, sports gear, and your boat if you have one.
All linens and towels are provided, and each home includes a starter set of toiletries to help you settle in comfortably upon arrival. A conveniently located grocery store nearby makes it easy to pick up food, paper goods, and household essentials, and guests can even preorder groceries in advance so everything is ready for quick pickup. Consider bringing board games for the kids, and—most importantly—an appetite for fun and relaxation.
Yes, there are bike rental places that will drop off bikes when you arrive, and pick them up when you leave.
There are two popular beaches nearby—Coco Plum Beach and Sombrero Beach—with Sombrero Beach offering more facilities and amenities.
Coco Plum Beach is just a five-minute drive. Head east on Overseas Highway, turn onto Coco Plum Drive, and follow it south to the beach.
To reach Sombrero Beach, travel west on Overseas Highway, turn left near Publix onto Sombrero Beach Road, and continue straight to the beach. The drive typically takes 10–15 minutes, or approximately 30 minutes by bike.
Bahia Honda State Park, home to the famous Seven Mile Bridge, is just a 15–20 minute drive south.
Yes. Guests have access to a dedicated 35-foot dock slip that may be used for jet skis or other watercraft. Please be sure to remain within your assigned slip at all times. From time to time, additional dock space may be available to rent, depending on availability.
Most boat trailers can be backed in under our stilted homes and still allow for parking 2 cars. Special arrangements can be made with the management for parking larger trailers on the property during your stay.
We ask that you always keep in mind that the common area be kept clear should the need arise for emergency vehicles to access our property. We thank you in advance for adhering to this request.
No, but there are several public ramps close by and one just a few blocks away.
Yes—guests are welcome to enjoy fishing from the dock. We simply ask that you remain respectful of others using the dock for boat and kayak access. Vaca Cove offers ample space for everyone to enjoy the waterfront, and the dock is a wonderful place to experience the area’s abundant wildlife. Guests often spot tarpon, snapper, jacks, rays, manatees, and a variety of tropical fish right from the property, making dockside fishing and wildlife viewing a favorite part of the stay.
